You will know that we took part in the Great British Skinny Dip last September, in support of our friends at Rennie Grove Hospice Care (raising £4,500). The planning for GBSD was filmed through last year by ZKK TV (who also filmed Diary of a Teenage Nudist (2004) and My Daughter, the Teenage Nudist (2012)) and, while our event itself wasn’t filmed, there was plenty of filming at Diogenes in the run up. We’ve now had word that the documentary will air on Channel 4 at 10 p.m. on February 14th!
The documentary promises to show the fun and vibrancy of GBSD and Naturism – which is being sought out by more and more people who are seeking escapism, wellbeing and fun in these times of increased pressures around body image concerns.
We’re really looking forward to having our wonderful club showcased on national TV and hope you can check it out so you can see the club’s great facilities.
Watch out too for an announcement about this year’s GBSD event at Diogenes!
Dr Keon West of Goldsmiths, University of London, has published the results of his research into Naturism – and the results confirm what those of us who are Naturists already know. Yes, Naturism is good for you! The research showed that Naturists experience positive benefits in wellbeing, happiness and body confidence, with exposure to ‘real’ people countering the effects of exposure to ‘idealised’ imagery. Read about the research here and find out more by watching this short film.
If you want to experience Naturism at one of the UK’s top Naturist clubs then Diogenes is the place for you – why not come for a trial visit?
