Diogenes Indoor Pool

Our heated indoor pool is open all year round from 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am until 9pm at weekends. It has a large tiled lounging area which is also heated underneath the floor tiles, making it nice and warm to walk on barefooted.  There are plenty of comfortable chairs and recliners plus foot stools to aid relaxation.  Many members use this warm space to sit and read quietly, or to simply chill out on a “not so sunny” day outside, when to be naked in the fresh air would be uncomfortable.

Maintenance and Cleanliness

Several club members are involved in the regular maintenance and cleanliness of our pools.  The pool is filtered continuously and is regularly monitored to ensure that it is kept crystal clear and sparkling at all times.  We believe young children and non-swimmers should be supervised at all times and not allowed in the pool area alone for everybody’s safety and peace of mind.

The pool deepens from 1.1mtrs left to right when viewed from the lounging area, and attains a maximum depth of 1.3mtrs.  Throughout the pool area there are numerous paintings which were done by a talented Diogenes member, and these are always commented upon by anyone seeing them for the first time.  They make the area look really welcoming and are fun to study too.

Swimming Lessons

We are very fortunate to have a qualified swimming instructor amongst us, and at certain times throughout the year there are structured swimming lessons given freely to the younger members, in order to help them become confident in the water.  The club makes no charge for this service, but we do ask the parents for small donations, which are then used to help purchase new and replacement equipment for the children’s play area.
