Sports
Sports and games
Sport is always high on the agenda at Diogenes. We often host
national competitions and our teams compete in national and
international events, and often bring home the trophies. Sports
facilities include 5 boules courts, 4 miniten courts, volleyball,
table tennis, badminton and skittles. We also have an outdoor
chess board and snakes and ladders game and plenty of board
games and jigsaws in the house for when we are forced to stay
inside.
Miniten
A version of tennis played on a smaller court but
following the rules and scoring of the traditional game.
Devised in the 1930s it is unique to naturism. The bat,
rather like a box around your hand, is called a thug
and whilst they can vary in size, shape and design,
there are some basic rules to follow.
Petanque/boules
This game that lends itself well to the naturist environment.
At Diogenes we have an active group of players that often
play in tournaments at other clubs. We also have our own boules
competitions, including a league that runs through the summer,
which are open to all. We have at least 8 pistes, see our
boule page for more
info
Volleyball
Naturists are known for their enjoyment of volleyball.
Our volleyball court is avaialble for members to use at any
time.
Table Tennis
Popular with the younger members and being an indoor sport
is played all year, regardless of the weather outside.
